Dayan, Shemuel

   Israeli pioneer and politician. He was born in the Ukraine and settled in Palestine in 1908. He was a founder of Deganyah and Nahalal and a leader of the moshavim co-operative settlement organization. He represented Mapai in the Knesset from 1949 to 1959. His writings include Nahalal, Moshav Ovedim, Pioneers in Israel and Man and the Soil.
